Brian Benedict, The Singing Fireman

In 1998, my wife and I traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, where I had the opportunity to perform a few songs at the legendary Legends Corner on Broadway. After my Friday and Saturday night performances, I was heading out when the bartender called across the room, "Hey, Singing Fireman from Indiana—hope to see you back!"

That moment stuck with me. I figured if a bartender in Nashville could remember "The Singing Fireman," anyone could. More than 25 years later, the name is still going strong.

Before joining the Richmond Fire Department, and after my time serving in the U.S. Army, I played with several local bands. While I enjoyed the band experience, that trip to Nashville inspired me to pursue a solo career. Along the way, I expanded my entertainment offerings by adding KaraFun party karaoke and a professional photo booth, allowing me to provide complete entertainment packages through the years for corporate events, festivals, and private parties.

Live Music Focus
I consider myself an entertainer first and an acoustic performer second. Audience participation is a big part of every show—I love inviting people to sing along, join me on stage, and become part of the experience. My goal has always been simple: create an atmosphere where people leave happier than when they arrived.

Some of my favorite performances have included Legends Corner in Nashville, The Crew's Nest at Put-in-Bay, corporate events for companies including Colgate, state firefighter conventions, chamber events, festivals, and countless pubs and private events. Today, I'm expanding my reach to more coastal venues, where I enjoy the unique energy, relaxed atmosphere, and enthusiastic beachside crowds.

My setlist spans decades and genres, featuring favorites from the 1950s through today's country hits, along with classic rock and blues. From Eric Clapton to Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffett to Bon Jovi, every performance is designed to keep air guitarists playing, shower singers singing, table tappers tapping, and audiences engaged from the first song to the last.
